The Fastest Computer on the Continent
The Centre for High Performance Computing (CHPC) at CSIR launched the fastest computer in Africa on 7 June 2016. Sevent was awarded the tender to coordinate and project manage the audio visual services for the launch of this Petascale Super Computer.
Sevent teamed up with AV Direct on this project. We filmed the addresses in the main room – the Boardroom at the CSIR and relayed the presentations and camera visuals to a Christie 7000 ansi lumen projector in the Boardroom, 2 large plasma screens in the Courtyard as well as a projection screen in the Lecture room. The audio was also fed to the 3 guest areas.
We had 3 Cameramen with HD cameras filming the proceedings. The unveiling of the plaque in the control room adjoining the computer room was filmed and relayed live together with the audio to the 3 venues. Our stills photographer was also on site.
We then editing the footage as per the client’s requirements. The event was a fantastic success.
